How to learn Tai Chi? This ancient Chinese martial arts spreads quickly to every corner of the world but it originated from China a few hundred years ago.
Some masters migrated from China. Some teach locally after learning in China.
One thing for sure, a learner cannot get 100% of their master’s skills. With each generation transfer of Tai Chi skills, some percentage of the skill was lost… forever.
Imagine the skill difference between the 5th generation masters with the 10th… must be wide apart right? That’s why different master teaches different Tai Chi movement.
Master Chan - 6th generation Yang Tai Chi Master Master Chan is the 6th generation master of Yang Tai Chi originated from Yong Nian, near Shanghai, China.
Yang Tai Chi was started by Yang Lu Chan (1799-1872), passed down to Yang Chien Hou (1839-1917), then to Yang Cheng Fu (1883-1936), and to its disciple, Fu Zhong Wen (1903-1994), who then passed the skills to his son, Fu Sheng Yan.
Master Chan was the disciple of Fu Sheng Yan, making him the 6th generation Tai Chi master to impart Yang Family’s Tai Chi skills.
He even had direct training under grandmaster Fu Zhong Wen.

Master Chan is now 70 years old, still healthy and strong because he has practiced Tai Chi for over 30 years.
He taught and produced many great students. Together, they actively participated in a lot of martial arts Tai Chi competition with many awards.

He always says, “When your legs stop moving, your hands must stop together” His another favorite saying is, "Your movement must not be empty" Master Chan’s Tai Chi is very practical too. He can use martial arts Tai Chi as a very powerful self-defense. Unless a crook is using gun, or else that crook is very unlikely to win the fight with him.

Master Chan taught the original and complete 85 steps Yang Tai Chi. It is not the simplified 16, 24, 32 or 64 steps Tai Chi.
